Psychosynthesis therapy offers individuals an opportunity to explore their problems, worries and hopes in a safe and confidential setting. It upholds the concept of holism with the philosophy that people have physical, mental and spiritual aspects to their being. The need to work with the whole person is therefore valued in this work.
We offer individual psychotherapy, which is provided by Frances Basset. Frances obtained a Post-graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling and Therapy from the University of East London and the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust (www.psychosynthesis.edu) in 2005.
She is an accredited member of by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, (www.bacp.co.uk) and is on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. In addition, she is a member of Sussex Counselling (www.sussex-counselling.co.uk) and the Psychosynthesis Professional Association (www.ppassociation.org.uk).
What to expect as a client:
- The first session, which is offered free of charge, is an opportunity to decide whether
you feel therapy
is right for you.
- Next, if both you and the therapist agree that therapy will be helpful, an agreement is
made to decide the way forward. You will be offered six weekly sessions of 60 minutes.
- After these six sessions are completed, there will be a review between you and the therapist.
What the therapist expects from you:
It is important that you attend all the sessions. Psychosynthesis therapy is most helpful when
there is continuation of meetings on a weekly basis. This allows for the development of a
therapeutic relationship based on confidentiality and trust.
